ShedRain Umbrellas: Which Model to Buy

ShedRain sells a wide range, from pocket compacts to motorized golf umbrellas. Its product pages are unusually specific: most give the canopy arc in the product name, and the Vortex pages state a wind test figure. Everything below comes from those pages, read on 6 October 2026; the site does not test umbrellas itself.

The compacts

ShedRain Vortex V2 43-inch Vented Compact

The Vortex V2 is ShedRain's vented compact: steel ribs and shaft, an anti-inversion frame and vents in the canopy that let gusts through. ShedRain states a 43-inch arc, a 12-inch folded length and a wind tunnel test to 75 mph. Small enough for a handbag or a carry-on.

How to choose a ShedRain

Folded length decides where it lives. The 43-inch compact folds to 12 inches; the 54-inch jumbo to 15 inches. If it has to fit a small bag, take the 43.

Arc decides how dry you stay. ShedRain puts the arc in most product names. Around 43 inches covers one person; the 54-inch jumbo and the 62-inch golf cover two.

Wind figures are ShedRain's own. The 75 mph figure is from ShedRain's wind tunnel testing as stated on its pages. We have no independent test to compare it with, and no other model here carries one.

Questions people ask

Is ShedRain a good umbrella brand?

ShedRain publishes more specifics than most brands: arc, folded length and, for the Vortex line, a wind test figure. Whether that makes it the right umbrella depends on size: compare the arcs above with how you'll use it.

What is the difference between Vortex and Vortex V2?

ShedRain sells both as vented windproof designs. The V2 pages we read list the 43-inch compact and the 54-inch jumbo with steel frames and the 75 mph wind tunnel figure; check the exact model name on the listing before you buy.
